Rashford, Maddison react to Jack Grealish message amid exit rumours
Jack Grealish has caught the eye on social media amid rumours of a summer exit from Manchester City.
Grealish joined Man City from boyhood club Aston Villa in 2021 and has registered 17 goals and 23 assists in 157 appearances across all competitions since.
The 39-time England international’s form has helped Pep Guardiola’s men win three Premier League titles and a Champions League among a host of other major honours.
However, Grealish has fallen down the pecking order over the past two seasons, seeing just 1,716 minutes of Premier League action since the start of 2023/24.
Last season, Grealish started just seven Premier League matches, registering one goal and one assist.

Jack Grealish catches the eye amid exit rumours
Grealish’s lack of game time has fuelled speculation he could leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.
Everton and West Ham United are understood to have a keen interest in the 29-year-old, though a deal will not be easy to strike due to the finances involved. Newcastle United are also thought to be weighing up an approach ahead of their return to the Champions League.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Grealish has clearly been working hard, posting images of himself on Instagram going through some rigorous individual training programmes, both with and without the ball.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Aston Villa | 213 | 32 | 43 |
Man City | 157 | 17 | 23 |
Notts County | 39 | 5 | 7 |
England | 39 | 4 | 8 |
The forward is clearly committed to keeping himself in shape, getting straight back to it despite City only ending their Club World Cup campaign earlier in July.
Grealish’s post drew plenty of attention, getting likes from England teammates James Maddison, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford — the latter closing in on a loan to Barcelona.
Man City teammates Phil Foden and Kalvin Phillips also liked the post, as did Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Premier League legend Robbie Keane.
Manchester City’s busy summer
The potential departure of Grealish will only be the latest step in what has already been a very busy market for Man City.
Guardiola’s men slumped to third last season and have work on their hands if they’re to regain the title from Liverpool, who have signed the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez this summer.
The Cityzens have already made a number of major signings, including Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki and Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Their arrivals have come amid a flurry of exits as Guardiola looks for fresh energy, with legends Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne leaving for Burnley and Napoli, respectively.
City don’t appear to be done there, with a move to re-sign James Trafford from Burnley looking increasingly likely amid uncertainty over the futures of Ederson and Stefan Ortega.
There are also fears that Bernardo Silva could depart as a free agent next summer at the end of his contract.
