Marcus Rashford, Andre Onana respond to Rasmus Hojlund amid Man United exit news

Rasmus Hojlund’s teammates reacted to the struggling striker’s latest update on social media away from Man United.

Despite impressing during his first campaign in England, signing from Atalanta for £72million two summers ago [BBC Sport], the 22-year-old notched just four goals in the Premier League last season.

While he scored six more goals in the Europa League, Man United supporters were extremely let down by Hojlund‘s performances, and many are keen to cash in on the striker this summer.

With the summer transfer window in full swing, Hojlund has emerged on Napoli’s radar, with the striker keen to link up with Scott McTominay once again, who is thriving in Serie A.

Speculation continues to swirl around the Denmark international’s future at Old Trafford, and his latest update away from football has gained traction online.

Rasmus Hojlund’s post gains attention at Man United

Taking to Instagram (23 June), Hojlund wrote: “Ferda,” translating to “Journey,” in English, with a series of images of the striker’s time away from Old Trafford.

Teammates Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt, Marcus Rashford, and Andre Onana all liked the post. Victor Lindelof, who is set to leave United on a free transfer, replied: “Ras attack,” with love heart emojis.

Ruben Amorim requires Man United rebuild for future success

Football Insider verdict

While the Red Devils made it to the Europa League final, being beaten to the title by Ange Postecoglou‘s Tottenham, it was far from an ideal first few months in England for the former Sporting CP boss.

However, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe‘s cost-cutting actions at Old Trafford, it is unlikely that many more deals will be made after the signings of Matheus Cunha and, hopefully, Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Man United are in the driving seat to sign Mbeumo ahead of Tottenham, with Thomas Frank attempting to bring the winger to North London with him.

Before United can sign any other big names, though, multiple exits are expected at Old Trafford, with the likes of Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Alejandro Garnacho, and Hojlund seen as expendable.

The funds potentially gained from offloading these players could help Amorim adapt the squad to his playing style, which is exactly why Viktor Gyokeres was linked with a Man United move.

He now appears set to join Arsenal this summer, with Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta needing to get business done ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, and that will be a huge blow for the Portuguese coach.
