Marcus Rashford exit: ‘Big-money decision emerges at Man United’

Marcus Rashford may miss out on an exit from Man United this month due to his own cash decision, according to a report from talkSPORT.

The attacker has been exiled from the Red Devils’ squad for several weeks under Ruben Amorim, who recently claimed he would rather have 63-year-old goalkeeper coach Jorge Vital on his bench.

A number of clubs including Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have been credited with an interest in the England international as he now looks for a route out of Old Trafford.

However the latest update has stated that Rashford is unwilling to take a pay cut from the £350,000 per week he is currently earning at Man United.

That has apparently created a major barrier for clubs looking at signing the 27-year-old, with another suggestion that they could agree a compromise deal with his current side.

The Old Trafford outfit though are apparently unwilling to pay a significant of Rashford’s wages given he has made it clear he wants to leave the club, meaning the player’s option are now said to be running out.

Marcus Rashford at risk over Man United exit stance

Football Insider Verdict

There surely has to be some concern for Rashford about what will happen if he does not find a route out of Old Trafford before the transfer market closes on Monday (3 February).

It feels like an incredibly long road back for at Man United for him, given the standoff that appears to have developed between the attacker and Amorim.

His career is at risk of stagnating if he does not leave the club soon, given he is not going to fulfill his potential in these circumstances.

Even before he was exiled he had not been performing as well as he can for some time and so a change of scenery that may help him to rediscover his top form.

That reinforces the feeling Rashford needs to leave Man United, although it appears he may have to take a pay cut to do so.

Right now though it seems that will not be happening, meaning it is hard to see quite where the exit he needs will come from, given how hard it will be for most clubs to afford his wages in this financial climate.
