Marcus Rashford reacts to Jesse Lingard message amid Man United exit links
Marcus Rashford has reacted to a message from former Manchester United teammate Jesse Lingard as he prepares to leave Old Trafford.
Rashford fell out of favour at Man United under Ruben Amorim and consequently joined Aston Villa during the winter transfer window.
The England international was handed a new lease of life after joining the West Midlands outfit, and notched four goals and five assists in 17 appearances for Unai Emery’s men.
However, thanks to a hamstring injury, Rashford has not appeared for Villa since scoring in a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on 22 April.

Similarly to Rashford’s fruitful loan stint with Villa, Lingard hit a rich vein of form when he joined West Ham on loan from the Old Trafford club during the 2020/21 campaign.
The 32-year-old left Man United permanently in 2022 and is now a key player for South Korean side FC Seoul.
Lingard posted a message on Instagram after his latest Seoul appearance on 28 May, as he wrote: “Big big win, let’s keep the momentum going.”
Rashford gave the post a like, while the England star wants to join Barcelona, as former Man United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively informed Football Insider.
Man United could accept transfer offers for Bruno Fernandes
After enduring a poor season, which saw the Red Devils lose the Europa League final to Tottenham as well as finishing just 15th in the Premier League, Amorim must oversee strong recruitment during the summer transfer window.

But as they aim to sign well after a woeful campaign, the North West giants look set to facilitate the exit of Rashford as well as his colleagues, such as Alejandro Garnacho, who Amorim is forcing out.
Meanwhile, Brown also exclusively told Football Insider that Man United could accept offers for Bruno Fernandes in the region of £80million to £100m.
Fernandes remains a talisman for the Old Trafford club, but the fact that Amorim could be willing to let go of the 30-year-old is indicative of the scale of the rebuild required.
Man United are also set to swap Rasmus Hojlund for Victor Osimhen to add more firepower to their ranks ahead of next season.
