Marcus Rashford paves the way for Man United to beat Chelsea to forward signing

Man United have a key advantage over Chelsea in the race to sign Turkish sensation Kenan Yildiz.

Sources told Football Insider on 16 September that Chelsea were facing an uphill battle to sign Yildiz.

Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola praised Yildiz as fans began to be optimistic that the forward, 20, would soon be heading to Stamford Bridge.

Yet, the difficult nature of the deal has only been made worse as Football Insider exclusively revealed that Man United have joined Chelsea in the race to sign Yildiz.

Juventus unwilling to part with Kenan Yildiz unless major offer received

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the Italian giants are not entertaining offers for the Turk.

The 20-year-old is content at the club and a huge bid for his services would be the only way of tempting Juventus from letting him go.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “Problem is for these Premier League clubs [Man United and Chelsea] is that Juventus do not want to sell Yildiz.

“They’re seeing him as a long-term project for the club and they’re working on a contract extension for the Turkey international right now as well.

“And it seem that Yildiz is quite happy, ensuring as well for the time being. Yeah, it looks a real difficult deal to do.

“It would be a huge transfer fee to sort of try and convince Juventus to sell them as well. So you’d be looking at £80million plus at least.

“And as I said, Juventus don’t even want to think about selling right now. It does seem the player is happy. So it’s one that the Premier League teams might have to put on the back burner for now.”

Marcus Rashford sale could give Man United head start over Chelsea for Yildiz

Sources told Football Insider on 26 September that Marcus Rashford has a good chance of signing permanently for Barcelona.

The Englishman has had a mixed start to his time in Catalunya but if he can perform well, Hansi Flick will have no choice but to sign him permanently at the end of his season-long loan.

Financial struggles are an ongoing issue for the Blaugrana which has seen PSG enter the race to sign Rashford.

The Red Devils may be able to demand an even higher fee for their academy graduate from the French giants which would partially fund a move for Yildiz’s £80m price tag.

If the Italian side agree a long-term contract with the Turkey international, both the Blues and United will likely face an even higher transfer figure.
