Marcus Rashford posts Man United comeback hint after footage revealed

Marcus Rashford was upbeat in a message to Man United supporters after providing a fresh update on his fitness.

The United forward spent the second half of the season on loan at Aston Villa, where he enjoyed a much-needed resurgence, scoring and assisting 10 times in a short but impactful spell under Unai Emery.

Despite his importance to the side, Villa’s hopes of keeping the winger have taken a hit. While Emery was keen to make Rashford’s move permanent, the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League has tightened finances.

Football Insider revealed Aston Villa would need to commit around £130 million across five years to sign Rashford in terms of transfer fee and wages based on his current salary, making a deal highly unlikely.

He missed the closing weeks of the campaign through injury, which meant he was unable to give a proper farewell to Villa fans. But with his loan spell now officially over, he shared a fitness update with fans, indicating he’s well on the road to recovery.

With United missing out on European competition altogether, the club’s finances have taken a significant hit. As a result, moving Rashford’s wages off the books appears increasingly likely.

Although the club would prefer a permanent transfer, Football Insider recently reported that Man United haven’t ruled out another loan deal for Rashford, with interest in the England international still strong.

Barcelona are said to be monitoring his situation closely, particularly after failing in their pursuit of Luis Diaz. The Catalan club are targeting a left winger and would be a welcome destination for Rashford, who is thought to be open to a move to Barcelona.

For now, however, his focus remains on regaining full fitness, with pre-season just over a month away, it remains to be seen whether he will be part of the squad that starts preparations.

Jadon Sancho also faces uncertain future at Man United

Jadon Sancho also looks set to leave Manchester United following his loan spell at Chelsea, with the club still unable to find a suitable long-term solution.

Chelsea opted against making Sancho’s loan deal permanent after being unable to agree terms due to his wages. There is also reported interest from Saudi Arabia, though United may have to subsidise part of his salary to finalise any deal.

With both Rashford and Sancho potentially on the way out, United are likely to undergo a major reshuffle on the flanks this summer.
