Marcus Rashford’s former Man United teammate reacts to Barcelona message

Marcus Rashford is settling into life at Barcelona after completing his loan move from Manchester United.

The England international featured in Barca’s 3-1 win over Japanese side Vissel Kobe in a pre-season friendly on Sunday, 27 July.

Barcelona’s victory came thanks to goals from former Manchester City defender Eric Garcia, Roony Bardghji, and Pedro Fernandez.

The Catalonian giants take on South Korean outfit FC Seoul in their next friendly outing on Thursday, 31 July.

West Ham star Aaron Wan-Bissaka reacts as Rashford shares Barcelona message

If Rashford establishes strong form at Barcelona, he could place himself firmly in the England fold ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

Meanwhile, after helping Hansi Flick’s side to victory over Vissel Kobe, the 27-year-old wrote on Instagram: “First minutes in a Barca shirt! Vamos!”

The former Aston Villa man’s message received a like from his former Manchester United teammate Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Football Insider verdict

While West Ham endured a tough Premier League season last term, Wan-Bissaka proved himself as a reliable asset by making 36 top-flight appearances.

The former Crystal Palace man also proved his creative ability by scoring two goals and producing five assists for Graham Potter’s men.

However, the 27-year-old is facing a tough battle on his hands as he vies to remain as Potter’s first-choice right-back, thanks to the arrival of Kyle Walker-Peters.

Despite playing for a Southampton side that suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, Walker-Peters did enough to convince the London Stadium club that he should stay in the top flight.

The former Tottenham man’s versatility will make him a top asset for Potter next term, and his quality can also threaten Wan-Bissaka’s chances of continuing to enjoy regular game time.

Meanwhile, the Hammers have been backed to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha in a West Ham Zone exclusive.
