Marcus Rashford: Pundit ‘100 per cent’ sure on Man United crisis talks after source’s reveal

Marcus Rashford held talks with Man United interim manager Ralf Rangnick ahead of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

That is the view of former Premier League striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 24-year-old’s struggles at Old Trafford.

Rashford was named on the bench against Leicester City despite the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani.

Rangnick opted to played Bruno Fernandes as a false nine instead of the England international.

A source with knowledge of Rashford’s situation told Football Insider (26 March) that the player has informed his circle that he’s ready to leave the club this summer.

When asked if Rashford will have likely looked for answers after Saturday, Campbell told Football Insider: “I think he knows he’s not going to play.

“At the end of the day, if the manager is picking a team and is picking midfielders to play up front and you’re a striker then you are going to have a word with him on the training ground.

“Rashford will want to find out what is going on. He will have spoke to Rangnick in the week, 100 per cent. That would get discussed on the training ground straight away. Rashford won’t be knocking on Rangnick’s door after the game. He will have been wanting to speak to him before it.

“It has not been a great season for Rashford but it has not been a great season for Manchester United. They would’ve expected to be challenging after the signings they made.”
