Marcus Rashford sends three-word Man United message after shock twist

Marcus Rashford bagged a brace in Man United’s comprehensive 4-0 Premier League win over Everton on Sunday (December 1) and hailed the all-round excellence of the team.

The 27-year-old is undergoing somewhat of a resurgence under new manager Ruben Amorim, scoring three goals in United’s last two Premier League games.

For many United fans as well as neutral observers this is a surprise, given how ineffective Rashford has been for much of the past two seasons.

Rashford’s first on Sunday came from a clever United corner routine, with the forward beautifully catching Bruno Fernandes’ cross on the half-volley, beating Jordan Pickford via a heavy deflection from Jarrad Branthwaite.

Amad Diallo played Rashford in for his second, allowing him to thread the ball through Pickford’s legs and into the back of the net.

The winger has played 1383 Premier League minutes across 21 appearances in all competitions, 18 of which were from the first whistle, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.

United are now unbeaten in their three games under Amorim, winning two and drawing one across all competitions.

Man United star Marcus Rashford reborn under Ruben Amorim

Before Amorim’s appointment, Rashford had gone six games without a goal contribution, his most recent being an assist in their 2-1 Premier League win over Brentford.

It took 391 minutes for Rashford to get his first goal of the season in United’s 3-0 league win over bottom-side Southampton.

Now, with Erik ten Hag no longer in the picture, the feeling at the club seems to have changed, with Rashford taking to Instagram to commend a “Top team performance.”

Amorim will need Rashford at his best as he faces his first real challenge as Man United manager on Wednesday (December 4), traveling to the Emirates to face Arsenal.

With the hectic festive period in full swing, United have eight games left in December alone as they try to salvage something from their season.
