Marcus Rashford telling Man United ‘I’ve got to go’ after bombshell – expert
Marcus Rashford has been tipped to leave Man United this summer after he was left out of the England squad for Euro 2024.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Scotland striker Frank McAvennie insisted Rashford, 26, needs a change of scenery to rediscover his best form as he is too comfortable at Old Trafford.
The forward was left out of Gareth Southgate’s provisional Euros squad after a dip in performances, with McAvennie insisting he doesn’t perform to a high enough level consistently.
Although an exit from United has been mooted, Football Insider reported on 4 May that Rashford’s high wages may cause issues when trying to move him on.
Marcus Rashford tipped to leave Man United after England call
Rashford first burst onto the scene in 2016, and has now made 402 appearances for the club, scoring 131 goals and providing 65 assists.
However, with just eight goals and five assists in 43 appearances this season, McAvennie insists he has allowed his level to drop and needs to rediscover his spark elsewhere.
“I think Rashford will have to go,” he told Football Insider.
“He’ll need to go now. He’s been dropped by the England team and he must say ‘I’ve got to go.’
“I think it’s too easy for him at Man United, if that makes sense. He’s too comfortable there because he’s been there for years.
“Sometimes you have to leave to get that sparkle back again.
“He’s a good player but he doesn’t do it enough. If he goes to another club he’ll have to do it all the time the way he used to do at Man United.

“He used to play at a 7/10 minimum every game. Then his form dropped and I think it all got too comfortable for him.
“It was a wakeup call, getting left out of the England team. I think he’ll want to leave.”
