‘Marcus Rashford to make Man United sweat for Barcelona move ahead of Luis Diaz’
Marcus Rashford is ready to hand Barcelona multiple helping hands in order to secure a move to the Camp Nou from Man United this summer.
Ruben Amorim was very vocal about his fallout with the player before the England international joined Aston Villa on loan during the winter transfer window, only to show up the manager under Unai Emery.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that Rashford is prepared to be loaned back out by United ahead of next season, but a permanent deal is far more likely due to the club’s finances.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe‘s cost-cutting schemes at Old Trafford, such as making multiple hundred staff redundant, would suggest that Amorim must sell first before sealing new signings this summer.
The same also goes for Jadon Sancho, who is set to return from Chelsea after failing to agree personal terms, forcing the Blues to pay a £5million penalty to send the player back.
Barcelona could certainly help fix one of the problems, with Rashford being heavily linked, but a move to Catalonia over the coming weeks might not be as simple as the Red Devils were hoping.

Marcus Rashford to keep Man United waiting over Barcelona deal
According to MARCA (3 June), the signing of Rashford offers two main advantages over Liverpool‘s Luis Diaz, with one of those being the player’s openness to take a considerable reduction in salary.
The England international is believed to earn over £15million a year [€18million] at Old Trafford, but considering Barca’s current financial situation, he reportedly would be willing to earn less in Spain.
It is also understood that Rashford is willing to wait until the end of the summer transfer window for a move to the Camp Nou to go through, having previously wanted to push through a move in the winter window before Aston Villa came in when Barcelona were unable to facilitate one.
Football Insider has reported as recently as last month, however, that Liverpool are prepared to accept a “huge” offer for Diaz amid interest from Hansi Flick’s side, while it would cost around €40m [£33.6m] for a Rashford move.

Ruben Amorim desperate for big-money exits at Old Trafford
Football Insider verdict
It is no secret that the Red Devils are under pressure financially, not from PSR, but the club need to sell a multitude of players if they are to afford the likes of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
This is especially true if the Brentford star is demanding to be a top-paid player at Old Trafford ahead of next season, and the hierarchy actually agree to the terms being requested by the 25-year-old.
Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, and Joshua Zirkzee are all likely to be on much higher salaries than warranted by their appearances this season.

The entire wage structure needs sorting out over the coming transfer windows, especially if Amorim wants to reshape the squad to fit his playing style, which worked so well for Sporting CP.
Getting rid of both Sancho and Rashford for big fees would go a long way, but if the latter is happy to wait until the end of the window to get a move, United are in an awful position in this scenario.
