Mark Goldbridge delivers ‘timely reminder’ amid Bryan Mbeumo to Man United twist
Mark Goldbridge has sent Man United a candid message over their pursuit of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo.
The Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim has made Mbeumo one of his top targets this summer and the club have had two bids rejected by Brentford.
The Bees rebuffed a £62.5million for their star player, who scored 20 Premier League goals for the club last season.
Tottenham and Mbeumo’s former manager Thomas Frank are also interested in a deal, but United are currently the move active to try make a move happen.
Amorim has already signed Wolves attacker Matheus Cunha to bolster his attack.

Goldbridge gives Mbeumo assessment
Writing on X (30 June), Goldbridge posted a strong assessment of United’s pursuit of Mbeumo.
Goldbridge wrote: “Brentford publicly stating they’d welcome keeping Mbeumo and don’t need to sell is a timely reminder to United.
“You’ve spent five weeks negotiating with a club that was only ever taking their asking price.
Goldbridge’s comments come after Brentford’s director of football Phil Giles stated it was “not impossible” Mbeumo stays in West London for next season.
Giles told the BBC: “We expected big interest in him, we have had big interest in him.
“He has his ideas about where he wants to take his career. He is well within his rights to do that.
“It is not impossible he is still a Brentford player next season if we agree he is going to stay.”
Giles confirmed Mbeumo could leave the club, but only if it was “the right deal.”
Continued frustration over transfer dealings

Goldbridge shares the frustrations of many United supporters in the club’s handling of transfer deals and calls for the need for the club to be more decisive in the market.
United’s transfer strategy over the past decade has provided mixed results and the changing of managers in the dugout has also not helped.
Amorim, who plays a back three, now wants a summer transfer window to sign his own type of player.
Mbeumo is seen in that plan as either a central forward or wide player, depending on other signings.

The club are also stalling in their attempts to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, with Amorim’s former player preferring a move to rivals Arsenal.
Emiliano Martinez is linked with a move to Old Trafford as Amorim looks to upgrade his goalkeeping options.
Transfer business for United though may depend on departures and recouping transfer fees.
That also looks difficult with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho on big wages and no interest in Tyrell Malacia yet.
Alejandro Garnacho looks the most likely to depart, with Napoli interested in the 20-year-old.
Kobbie Mainoo could also leave to fund a squad rebuild, but no offers have been received for the English midfielder.
