Mark Hughes sends warning to Tottenham ahead of weekend encounter
By Harvey Byrne
Stoke boss Mark Hughes has warned Tottenham that his side are a “different proposition” and have improved since their meeting earlier in the season.
The north London club are currently preparing to host the Midlands side at White Hart Lane for the Sunday afternoon encounter.
When the two Premier League sides met earlier in the campaign Spurs ran out out a convincing 4-0 victory at the Bet365 Stadium with goals from Dele Alli, Harry Kane and a Son Heung-min double.
However, Hughes believes his side are much better since then and has said in his press conference before the game, as quoted by the official Stoke Twitter account that he would be surprised if a similar outcome happened on Sunday.
Tottenham will very much be hoping for a similar scoreline after a poor run of results which has seen them win just one of their last four matches in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Stoke have suffered just one defeat from their last six Premier League matches and they will be looking to continue that impressive run.
There is currently 18 points and six places between the two top flight clubs and Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be heavily expected to pick up all three points.
