Mark Lawrenson predicts Arsenal v Hull
By Danny Wright
Mark Lawrenson believes that Arsenal will end a run of back-to-back Premier League defeats with a 2-0 victory over Hull on Saturday.
The BBC Sport pundit has said that he is expecting the Gunners to turn around their season and get back to winning ways.
Arsenal have seen themselves drop from second place in the league, eight points behind leaders Chelsea, to fourth, and are now twelve points adrift of the top.
“Arsenal have had a bad patch that has basically ended their title hopes, as per usual,” Lawrenson told the BBC Sport website.
“But in the past we have always seen a reaction from them where their form improves, and I am expecting that to happen here.
“The whole debate about Arsene Wenger’s future does not help matters but, as much as the focus is on him, this is the same group of players that went 19 games unbeaten earlier in the season.”
Lawrenson added that there’s no excuse for the poor starts Arsenal have had in games recently, and need to deliver.
Arsene Wenger has come under a lot of scrutiny in recent years, and the critics are out in force again after consecutive defeats to Watford and Chelsea.
Hull, on the other hand, have begun to improve their results since Marco Silva was given the managerial job following the sacking of Mike Phelan.
The Humderside club have played top six sides in their last three outings and have picked up four points in the process.
The Tigers won’t be rolling over for Wenger’s side though as their fight for Premier League survival looks as closely contested as ever.
