Mark Lawrenson predicts Tottenham v West Brom

By Dominic Toner

Mark Lawrenson has backed Tottenham to overcome West Brom on Saturday in the Premier League.

Spurs host the Baggies at White Hart Lane and will be looking to make it seven straight wins across all competitions.

The north London club have hit top form in recent weeks and defeated leaders Chelsea 2-0 in their last league game.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are now regarded as serious title contenders and will be looking to continue their winning run against bogey side West Brom.

BBC pundit Lawrenson expects Spurs to overcome a difficult test on Saturday and has tipped a 2-0 scoreline to the home team.

“The Baggies will create chances at White Hart Lane too and will make it difficult for Tottenham, as they do against every team,” Lawrenson wrote on the BBC Sport website. “But I still expect Tottenham to win, because they are absolutely flying right now.

Spurs will move up to second in the Premier League table with a victory on Saturday as Liverpool do not play until Sunday, when they travel to Old Trafford for a clash with Manchester United.

The north London club will be hoping to put the pressure on them and continue their climb up the league table.

They have scored 10 goals in their last three league games prior to the West Brom match and Dele Alli has scored three consecutive braces.

Alli, 20, will be confident of adding to his goal tally and he is currently the in-form player in the division.
