Mark Noble could ‘replace Julen Lopetegui’ after West Ham sack
Mark Noble has been named as the right short-term replacement for Julen Lopetegui where West Ham should sack the Spaniard, according to Jamie O’Hara.
After winning just four of his first 14 league games the Spaniard is under intense pressure at West Ham, and it seems increasingly likely that his position as manager could be snatched away in the near future.
It seems only a matter of time before the Hammers’ hierarchy act on their poor campaign and sack Lopetegui, with O’Hara keen on the idea of Noble stepping in temporarily
The former Spurs midfielder O’Hara said on talkSPORT: “I’d sack him [Lopetegui]. Get Mark Noble in there and say, ‘listen, lads, this is what we’re about, let’s go and put in a couple of results like [Ruud] Van Nistelrooy did and go from there’.”
Jason Cundy reacted immediately, saying: “This is a crucial period.
“We’re entering the busiest time of the Premier League. If you don’t have a manager there, you’re season could fall apart.”
West Ham sack for Julen Lopetegui is inevitable after Leicester
Football Insider opinion
There are big concerns at the London Stadium over the team’s progress since Lopetegui’s appointment following David Moyes’ departure at the end of last season, to leave the former Wolves boss in a precarious position.
This is after Football Insider reported Graham Potter is emerging as the leading contender to be the next West Ham manager.

Victory and a positive performance at St James’ Park in the 2-0 win over Newcastle on 25 November sparked optimism that the team may have turned the corner – but two consecutive losses including their 3-1 loss against Leicester have served to intensify the internal doubts of the Irons managers future.
In September 2022, it was announced that Noble would return to West Ham United as a sporting director from January 2023. However the Englishman has very little experience in management and therefore would be an obvious risk as an actual replacement in the dug out.
In other news, Jose Mourinho is “very interested” in being the next Irons manager, Football Insider has revealed.
