Mark Noble slams West Ham supporters, this will wind them up even more
By Matt Farr
West Ham midfielder Mark Noble has hit back at fans who have called for him to be dropped from the starting eleven.
The Hammers support have grown increasingly frustrated at the performances of the long-serving midfielder of late, and have taken to Twitter to call for him to be dropped.
But Noble has emphatically hit back at them by claiming that they ‘don’t understand football’, which is only likely to add further fuel to the fire.
He told Sky Sports: “If I’m really honest, a lot of people who now go to football don’t really understand the game.
“Football is a game of moments now and if someone does four step-overs, they’ve had an incredible game. That’s not something I do. It’s just football, you’ve got to live with it.
“Players like Wayne Rooney, some people want him out of the Manchester United team. That’s why we our captains of our clubs, because we can handle that pressure.”
West Ham fans have demanded change from their side after witnessing a run of four Premier League games without a win, and axing Noble is just one of them.
The 29-year-old midfielder has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring five goals and supplying two assists.
However, he has yet to register a Premier League assist this term, and is without a goal in all competitions since the win over Southampton on February 4.
Manager Slaven Bilic meanwhile, has also come under fire, leading to speculation that his future with the club is once again up in the air.
He had previously been given the full support of the board after a miserable start to the season, but with the club 11th in the Premier League with ten games remaining, all is still not well in the West Ham camp.
A defeat to Leicester on Saturday could see them drop to 14th in the table, and would find themselves within just six points of the relegation zone.
