Martial could still have long-term Man United future as transfer footage emerges – pundit

Anthony Martial’s long-term future at Man United is “up in the air” ahead of a loan move to Sevilla.

That is the view of former Premier League striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 26-year-old’s temporary exit from Old Trafford.

As captured by El Partidazo de COPE (25 January), Martial landed in Seville this afternoon to complete a loan move to the La Liga club.

According to Fabrizio Romano (25 January), the loan agreement does not include an option to buy as United are keen for their next permanent manager to have final say on Martial’s future.

The French forward has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Martial’s long term future, Campbell said: “It’s all up in the air for Martial.

“Who knows if he has a future at Manchester United? Ralf Rangnick is only going to be manager until the end of the season and we don’t know who the permanent manager will be.

“At the end of the day, Martial has hardly got a kick over the past few months. He has to go and play football. He wants to go and play and at Sevilla he has an opportunity to play some football.

“Hopefully he will start enjoying football again. He’s an exceptionally talented player. He wants to play and is not getting the opportunity.

“A loan move is for the best.”
