Martin Boyle stuns, Alasana Manneh missing – Hibernian ratings in 2-2 Rangers draw

Hibernian earned a 2-2 draw against Rangers in Dwight Gayle’s final match before retirement.

Jack Butland was included in the Rangers side after a dismal performance the last time the Bears and Hibs met, much to the benefit of David Gray’s side.

Hibernian won 2-0 the last time they played Rangers, and whilst they had to settle for a draw this time round, goals from Kieron Bowie and Martin Boyle earned them a well-deserved point.

Providing Aberdeen don’t win against Celtic in the Scottish Cup final, Gray’s side will be playing Europa League football next season.

Hibernian fight for well earnt draw vs Rangers

Jordan Smith – 7

Faced a lot of pressure and despite conceding twice, was generally a strong presence between the sticks.

Warren O’Hora – 5

The weakest of the back three, O’Hora was pulled apart by Danilo consistently.

Rocky Bushiri – 6

The centre-half found it difficult in the first half, before finding his feet in the second.

Dwight Gayle signs off on brilliant career

Jack Iredale – 7

A staunch performance at the back from Iredale, who consistently got the better of Cyriel Dessers.

Chris Cadden – 6

Did not have much joy going forward but was solid defensively.

Alasana Manneh (off for Campbell 57′) – 4

Found it difficult to have any real impact on proceedings before being substituted.

Nectarios Triantis (off for Levitt 79′) – 6

Struggled to deal with the lively Raskin at times, but dealt with the challenge posed.

Nicky Cadden – 8

Cadden’s delightful cross picked out Boyle to make it 2-2, a wonderful performance from the left-back.

Junior Hoilett orchestrates Hibernian fightback

Junior Hoilett (off for Moriah-Welsh 57′) – 8

The Canadian forward was in fine form, pulling the strings for Hibs against Rangers.

Martin Boyle – 9 – Player of the Match

Scored a delightful header to draw Hibs level, led the line brilliantly all afternoon.

Kieron Bowie (off for Gayle 57′) – 8

Bowie joined Hibernian from Fulham in the summer, and the striker was perhaps a little unfortunate to be substituted after scoring, a strong performance from the 22-year-old.

Substitutes

Dwight Gayle (on for Bowie 57′) – 6

Would have loved to get a goal but it was not to be.

Nathan Moriah-Welsh (on for Hoilett 57′) – 5

Struggled to have the influence his Canadian teammate had previously.

Josh Campbell (on for Manneh 57′) – 5

A talented player, but was not able to get up to speed against Rangers from the bench.

Dylan Levitt (on for Triantis 79′) – 6

Offered more solidity in the middle of the park.
