‘Martin Keown ridiculed live on air over Arsenal loss to Man United’
Martin Keown and Simon Jordan shared a heated exchange after Arsenal lost to Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup.
Arsenal conceded first as Bruno Fernandes scored a curling effort in the 52nd minute that put the Red Devils in the ascendency.
The Gunners then pegged United back with a goal from their Brazilian centre-back Gabriel in the 63rd minute, two minutes after full-back Diogo Dalot was sent off.
Martin Odegaard then missed a penalty in the 73rd minute, foreshadowing Arsenal’s demise in the shoot-out that followed a nervy 30 minutes of extra-time.
Jordan and Keown clashed over the former Arsenal captain’s lack of partiality on the topic on talkSPORT (10.08am), Jordan said: “I don’t see Arsenal winning the Champions League…
Keown interjects: “He’s buzzing isn’t he.”
Jordan responds: “No well look the reasons why that sort of rhetoric gets put on your toes is because you’re not objective. You sit in the studio week in, week out…”
Keown again interrupts by saying: “I’ve just started the show by saying congratulations to Manchester United.”
Jordan: “Because you have to.”
Keown: “No, because that’s the sporting element to this.”
Jordan: “It’s not about the sporting element its about subjectivity.”
Keown: “For you its about fun, you’re a Punch and Judy show, lets have an element of balance, Arsenal have gone out of the FA Cup…”
This time, Jordan interrupts: “The reason you get put behind the eight-ball is because you flatly refuse in every single conversation to be subjective, so whilst it becomes a bit of sport at your expense, I don’t need Jim (White) to tag team you mate.”
Arsenal struggle to find a winning formula against top teams
Football Insider opinion
Arsenal’s struggles this season have largely been mitigated by a good run of form during the Christmas period, however, the cracks are beginning to show once again.
This was perhaps best evidenced by the scrap that happened during the game, and the FA are set to investigate the brawl, Keith Hackett has exclusively revealed to Football Insider.
The Gunners have dropped points against Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea and Manchester City in the league, whilst also losing the first-round of their Carabao Cup semi-final against the Magpies, and have now been dumped out of the FA Cup by long-time rivals United.

There has been a reliance on the magic of Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, but with the Englishman set for a spell on the side-lines because of injury, the Gunners are struggling against teams that are willing to take the game to them.
An injury in the tie against United to Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus has led to fans demanding that the club sign a replacement in January, with the front-line looking threadbare.
As a result of the injuries and poor-form for the North London side, Mick Brown exclusively revealed to Football Insider the plans that Arsenal have to sign Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman.
In other news, Stefan Borson has revealed that Arsenal have misled their fans over financial restrictions.
