Mason Mount and Hudson-Odoi react to ‘incredible’ Billy Gilmour message
Billy Gilmour was at the centre of Napoli’s Scudetto celebrations as several of his former Chelsea team-mates responded.
Gilmour and Scott McTominay both took the leap of faith from the Premier League to Serie A last summer and have reaped the rewards alongide Romelu Lukaku, after Napoli sealed their fourth Scudetto victory.
Antonio Conte‘s side edged out his former employers Inter to win Serie A by a single point, and the ex-Chelsea boss has done so with Gilmour and Lukaku providing a Stamford Bridge connection to Napoli.
Napoli could be set for further Premier League additions this summer with Kevin De Bruyne potentially set to make the move, while Chelsea are one of several clubs keen on wantaway striker Victor Osimhen.

Gilmour sends Napoli message that ‘words can’t describe’
Brighton were quick to accept Napoli’s bid for Gilmour last summer and soon reinvested, but the Scottish international has gone from strength to strength as part of a Scudetto-winning midfield at Napoli.
McTominay’s performances have gained greater plaudits with 12 Serie A goals and a further six assists in a transformative season for the ex-Man United man, but Gilmour has still featured 26 times for Napoli.
Amid the Scudetto celebrations through the streets of Naples, Gilmour posted on Instagram (28 May) with a collection of images from Napoli’s parade and a message fo the Partenopei faithful.
Ex-Chelsea academy stars Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Fikayo Tomori all liked Gilmour’s post, which said: “Champions parade dump – incredible support, words can’t describe it! Forza Napoli always”.
Chelsea and Napoli ready for transfer dealings
Although neither Conte nor Gilmour directly made the move from Stamford Bridge to the Stadio Diego Maradona, Lukaku’s £30million switch last summer added to the relationship between the two clubs.
Chelsea failed to agree a swap deal with Napoli for Lukaku and Osimhen last summer, but their clear need for a number nine this summer means the Blues will be back in for the Nigerian 12 months on.
Conte is also a fan of outcast Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and could make an approach for him in the window, with that close association only set to continue after Gilmour and Lukaku’s moves.
