Mason Mount bids farewell in four-word Man United message
Man United midfielder Mason Mount has taken to social media to bid farewell to Ruud van Nistelrooy following his sacking earlier in the week.
New manager Ruben Amorim, 39, decided against keeping the 48-year-old former striker at the club despite his impressive tenure as interim manager.
Van Nistelrooy was unbeaten in his four games at the helm, winning three and drawing one across all competitions.
The new era has officially begun at Old Trafford, with Amorim meeting his new players for the first time on Wednesday (November 13) as they prepare for their upcoming Premier League game against Ipswich after the international break.
Mason Mount sad to see Ruud van Nistelrooy leave Man United
Mount, 25, only managed to play nine minutes under the Dutchman, a cameo substitute appearance in their 2-0 Europa League win over PAOK.
Still, the midfielder took to Instagram to thank Van Nistelrooy for steadying the ship after a chaotic start to the season under Erik ten Hag.

Mount will no doubt be hoping the injury troubles that have plagued his Man United career so far are behind him.
The England international has only managed to play 29 games across all competitions for the 20-time Premier League champions since making the £55million move in the summer of 2023.
