Mason Mount ‘has heart set’ on Man United amid ‘huge’ claim – pundit
Missing out on a move to Man United will be a “huge loss” for Mason Mount.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie said it is “criminal” for Mount to be left on the bench at Chelsea.
The 24-year-old is entering the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and has been the subject of transfer interest from United.
Erik ten Hag’s side have reportedly made three bids for the 24-year-old, all of which have been rejected by the Blues.
According to Sky Sports (25 June), Chelsea rejected United’s latest offer of £55million for the midfielder and the Red Devils are now focusing on other targets.
United’s current offer of £55m is still on the table but Chelsea have made a counter-proposal of £58m plus £7m in add-ons.
McAvennie insisted the Red Devils won’t go above and beyond to land Mount.
“Everyone has got a price and Man United will have a price for Mason Mount,” he told Football Insider.

“They will have a price and if Chelsea say no they will move on which I think is a shame because Mason Mount is not going to get a game at Chelsea and it would be criminal to leave him there.
“I think his heart is set on going to Man United so it will be a huge loss for the player. But Man Untied will move on and get someone else.“
