Mason Mount sends 2-word message to Matheus Cunha after Man United deal done
Mason Mount has sent a message to new Manchester United teammate Matheus Cunha after his move to the Red Devils was officially confirmed.
Man United have moved to bring in the Brazilian international following an impressive season for Wolves that saw him register 15 goals and six assists in 33 Premier League appearances.
He always looked bound to depart the Molineux outfit this summer, and Football Insider revealed last month that Cunha was edging closer to a move to the Red Devils despite their lack of European football next term.
Ruben Amorim’s side had confirmed that they had triggered Cunha’s £62.5million Wolves release clause on 2 June, and their move has now been finalised on Thursday (12 June), with the 26-year-old signing an initial five-year contract at Old Trafford.
The versatile attacker has been on international duty over the last few weeks with Brazil, but he will soon join up with his United teammates for pre-season, and one has already moved to welcome him to his new club.

Mason Mount sends ‘welcome’ message to Matheus Cunha after Man United announcement
Cunha and Man United have each already acknowledged his move to Old Trafford, but the club posted an official announcement on Instagram on 12 June after his deal was finalised with a caption saying: “Pen to paper. Cunha to United” and a fire love heart emoji.
Ex-Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, who has struggled to make an impact at the club over the last few years, moved to welcome his new teammate to the club as he shared the announcement to his story and sent a message, saying: “Welcome brother!”
Football Insider revealed last month that Mount is well-liked by boss Amorim, despite his respective injury and form troubles, and so he is clearly planning on staying at the club past this summer and linking up with Cunha on the pitch next term.

Cunha may be catalyst for positive Man United change for Amorim
Football Insider verdict
United’s 2024/25 campaign was one to remember for all the wrong reasons, as they finished 16th in the Premier League and were beaten in the Europa League final by fellow strugglers Tottenham.
Portuguese boss Amorim clearly has huge job on his hands to get the club back on track, but there is a feeling that they cannot get much worse, and signing a player like Cunha is a very positive start to what promises to be a busy summer at Old Trafford.
The Brazilian international is now an experienced Premier League forward, having spent two-and-a-half years at Wolves, and his exploits in the last campaign were seriously impressive as he almost singlehandedly dragged the Molineux outfit away from relegation trouble.

United need goalscorers this summer, and he is guaranteed to find the net regularly if played in the right system, while Amorim could also complement his talents with another forward as Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo closes in on a move to the Red Devils, as revealed by Football Insider.
Cunha may not be a neutral’s favourite player, due to his brash on-field tendencies, but that kind of personality and fight is also something that United have missed in recent seasons, and they could have a stellar signing on their hands as long as Amorim knows how to handle him both on and off the pitch.
