Mason Mount sends ‘limbs’ message to Harry Maguire over Man United drama
Man United midfielder Mason Mount took to social media to send a message to teammate Harry Maguire after his controversial goal in their 2-1 FA Cup win over Leicester on Friday.
Mount, 26, was forced to watch from the sidelines as Man United secured their spot in the FA Cup fifth round with a home win over Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester.
The attacking midfielder has been out of action since the 2-1 win over Man City in mid-December, with Mount missing Man United’s last 13 games across all competitions.
The former Chelsea star has featured on occasion this season, starting six if his 12 games across all competitions, and failing to provide a goal contribution in his 403 minutes of action.
Some are starting to lose faith in his ability to be an important play at the club, with many fans suggesting Man United should cut their losses and terminate Mount’s contract.
Mason Mount celebrates as Harry Maguire scored controversial Man United winner
Maguire was one of several Man United players who appeared to be stood in an offside position when he met Bruno Fernandes’ floating cross to nod past Mads Hermansen in the Leicester goal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA official Keith Hackett believes the Man United goal should have been ruled out for offside.
The FA decided to only have VAR in the FA Cup from the fifth round onwards at the start of the 2024-25 season, with it previously used in the third and fourth rounds if the tie was played at a Premier League ground.
Mount didn’t appear to care about the controversy, however, taking to Instagram to send a simple message to Harry Maguire, saying: “Limbs!!”

The England international is enjoying life under Ruben Amorim, starting 17 of his 24 games across all competitions, popping up with two goals, and providing zero assists in his 1576 minutes of action.
United’s attention will turn from the FA Cup back to the Premier League as they prepare for a trip to fellow ‘big six’ strugglers Tottenham on February 16th.
