Mason Mount sends Man United message after controversial Asia tour
Mason Mount has spoken out about Man United’s recent tour of Asia in a new message the supporters away from Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim‘s side jetted out to Kuala Lumpur just days after beating Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League season, facing ASEAN All Stars just three days later, and losing 1-0.
That was already embarrassing enough for the Red Devils, who fielded a very strong team in front of their fans, and fans back in England have continued to joke about the players not wanting to be there.
It got even worse as, while United managed to beat Hong Kong 3-1 after going one goal down, Amad Diallo was the source of controversy after being seen swearing at fans after getting off the team bus.
The 22-year-old revealed that one person had shouted about his mother, prompting the reaction, but the incident has only continued to shroud what has been a disastrous attempt to connect with worldwide fans.
Mason Mount thanks worldwide Man United supporters
Taking to Instagram stories (30 May), Mount wrote: “Big thanks to Malaysia and Hong Kong for the hospitality, and to all the fans who came out to support along the way!”

Ruben Amorim must achieve the impossible next season
Football Insider verdict
Amorim is already facing pressure from Man United fans, despite only leaving Sporting CP for Old Trafford in November, and taking over a squad which does not suit his style of play.
Voices calling for his sack will have only increased following the team’s awful performances in Asia, but the Portuguese figure deserves a few more months and a summer transfer window to prove himself.
It has been the Red Devils’ worst domestic season since being relegated from the first division in 1973/74, so it is understandable why so much pressure is building for United.

There is another problem heading into the summer transfer window. Sir Jim Ratcliffe‘s cost-cutting schemes at Old Trafford would suggest that funds are not readily available for transfers.
Andre Onana, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Rasmus Hojlund have all been linked with Man United exits, and those big-profile transfers could open up some much-needed funding for the window.
Football Insider understands that Man United are unlikely to part ways with Amorim any time soon, but unless he makes a good start to the 2025/26 campaign, it could be a very short notice period for the 40-year-old.
