Mason Mount, Wan-Bissaka react to one-word message from Man United ace Casemiro

Mason Mount and Aaron Wan-Bissaka reacted to a message from Man United midfielder Casemiro ahead of the club’s pre-season tour of the USA.

The Brazilian midfielder made the move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2022 after a brilliant seven-year stint with Real Madrid.

During that time, the former Sao Paulo man had established himself as one of the two best holding midfielders in the world alongside Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets.

However, much like many before him, Casemiro endured a sharp decline in performance after joining United and the 33-year-old has been the target of plenty of criticism from fans and pundits alike.

Jamie Carragher was quoted as saying: “Leave the football before the football leaves you”, after a particularly disastrous performance in 2024.

But in the latter half of last season, Casemiro turned things around, becoming a vital part of Ruben Amorim’s side, and the Brazilian seems to have regained his confidence after a rough start to life in England.

Casemiro shares Man United update

With the club set to embark on a pre-season tour of the USA, Casemiro shared two images of himself in the gym on Instagram, captioned: “Chicago”.

The post was liked by Mount and Wan-Bissaka, with the duo showing their support for the 33-year-old.

Football Insider Verdict

The summer after Casemiro joined United, Mount himself made the move to Old Trafford for a fee of £55million [Sky Sports].

And just like his Brazilian teammate, the Englishman has found it difficult to replicate the performances that made him so in-demand.

However, that is where the similarities end. Whilst Casemiro has battled back and earned a place in United’s starting XI, Mount continues to be side-lined by a combination of injuries and poor form.

This year is a particularly pertinent one for football’s top-end players, with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon.

If Mount is to have any chance of being in contention for England’s squad next summer, he must first find the form that made United so desperate to sign him in the first place, as Casemiro has done.
