Alex Bruce believes Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer has got the attributes to be a success at a Premier League club like Tottenham.
The former Kilmarnock centre-back, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, admits the 14-cap star is a nightmare to play against due him standing at 6ft 5in (Transfermarkt) tall.
Norwegian publication Sporten report that the Lilywhites have made moves over signing the 21-year-old after the player’s agent revealed he would be leaving Parkhead this summer.
Bruce, who came up against the Norway international three times while at Kilmarnock, has lifted the lid on what he is like to play against and why he thinks he could move south of the border.
Bruce told Football Insider: “It’s a big ask to go from the SPL to go to a club like Spurs and the demands that it brings but he’s a good player.
“He’s done well at Celtic, he’s a good size, he can handle the on-the-ball stuff, so he’s got all the bits. Only time will tell if he can make the next level at a club like Spurs.
“Listen, he’s a good age, he’s a good age, he’s got good attributes so I can understand why he’s getting linked with clubs like Tottenham.
“He’s a big lad, I’ve marked him on a corner and he’s massive. I needed to take a ladder on the pitch.”
Ajer has established himself as a mainstay since arriving at Parkhead in 2016, with 129 appearances under his belt.
This season has seen him play 49 times across all competitions, playing alongside the likes of Christopher Jullien and Jozo Simunovic at the back.
In other Celtic news, it can be REVEALED that Neil Lennon has made his mind up on the future of one loan star.
