Kevin Campbell has waxed lyrical about Leeds United summer signing Raphinha after he starred against Everton last weekend.
The former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed the 23-year-old will be a “massive threat” if he continues to perform at the level shown at Goodison Park.
The Brazilian winger scored his first goal for Leeds on Saturday to help Marcelo Bielsa’s side climb to 12th in the Premier League with a 1-0 victory over Everton.
A £17million signing from Rennes in October, Raphinha has started the last two league games having failed to make the starting eleven for any of the previous four.
Helder Costa has dropped to the bench for the last two matches and appears to be in direct competition with Raphinha for a starting spot at Elland Road.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Raphinha’s start to life in England, Campbell said: “Raphinha is a really shrewd signing.
“It was a fantastic goal against Everton and a decent performance.
“Quite often you do not get to see these kind of players because they are not in the side or on the bench but he played very well.
“It was a cracking goal and hopefully that performance will keep him in the team. He has show a lot of quality so if he can keep that up he will stay in the team and be a massive threat.”
