Jackie McNamara has made the exciting claim that there is a lot more to come from Celtic winger Mohamed Elyounoussi after his early appearances for the Glasgow giants.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Celtic and Scotland defender says that the 25-year-old will continue to improve as he continues to feature in the first-team, having been in and out the side so far.
The Southampton loanee, who signed on a season-long deal this summer, has played four times for the Bhoys, only one of those appearances coming in the Scottish Premiership.
Having seen the winger score his first goal for the club against Cluj in midweek, McNamara insists there is a lot more for the Celtic fans to expect from the Norwegian international.
McNamara told Football Insider: “I think he’ll get better and stronger with his fitness. He’ll get more game time just now and he has got pace there, he has got pace to burn.
“He’ll get a bit of confidence from the Cluj game, his first goal in a home European game which will give him a massive lift.”
Elyounoussi struggled for game time at Southampton after signing for FC Basel back in 2018, playing in just 19 games and failing to contribute a single goal or an assist for the Saints.
He has 24 caps under his belt for Norway and experience of both the Champions League and the Europa League during his time at Molde and Basel.
