Celtic player ratings in win v Zenit: 9/10 ace is clear MOTM

COMMENT
Celtic deservedly beat Zenit 1-0 at Celtic Park in the first leg of their Europa League last 32 tie at Parkhead on Thursday night.
Brendan Rodgers made two changes from the side which defeated Partick 3-2 on Saturday, bringing in Callum McGregor for Charly Musonda. and reverting to a three at the back, which allowed Kieran Tierney to play on the wing.
Ebouue Kouassi replaced Scott Sinclair, as the player of the year dropped to the bench.
The Hoops had the better of the first-half, as they enjoyed plenty of possession, but aside from a Ntcham shot just past the post, they were unable to create any real openings.
Indeed, the best chance of the first-half fell to the Russian side, with the much maligned de Vries doing well to save Zabolotny’s shot, as the first-half ended goalless.
The Bhoys continued to dominate the game, but the goal didn’t come until the 78th minute, when good work by Charly Musonda found McGregor, who hammered the ball into the net.
The Hoops can now go into the second leg in Russia with confidence of qualifying for the last 16 of the tournament.
