Mateo Kovacic reacts to new Josko Gvardiol announcement at Man City
Mateo Kovacic has reacted to the latest announcement from Man City regarding his teammate Josko Gvardiol.
The 23-year-old has made quite the impact at the Etihad Stadium since his £77million arrival from RB Leipzig in August 2023 [BBC Sport], making 95 appearances so far.
With 11 goals and three assists, usually from the left-back position for the Croatia international, supporters have fallen in love with the defensive star, and understandably so.
Despite his performances at the back, it has been an incredibly difficult last season for the Citizens, with Pep Guardiola coming under considerable pressure as Man City manager throughout the campaign.
Due to this difficult season, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Rayan Cherki have all been added to the squad ahead of the Club World Cup, and now news surrounding Gvardiol has emerged.

Football Insider verdict
Despite spending over £100million during the winter transfer window on Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanvov, Vitor Reis, and Juma Bah, Guardiola wants more.
As well as signing Reijnders, Cherki, and Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli has joined as a replacement for the departing Scott Carson, just in time for the Club World Cup in the USA.
There is likely to be a lot of change at the Etihad this summer, with incomings needing to be balanced out by a number of high-profile exits, which could mark the start of a new era in Manchester.

Kevin De Bruyne is closing in on a move to Napoli following the expiration of his contract, with Football Insider also understanding that Jack Grealish favours a move to Everton this summer.
Ederson, John Stones, Bernardo Silva, and Oscar Bobb have all been linked with Man City exits, and these departures could help fund some of the incredible signings which have already been made.
Supporters are already excited for the new campaign to kick off, but it could be a much-changed starting lineup from the one which featured against Fulham on the final day of the season.
