Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo likened to legendary Man United duo – ‘unbelievable’
Manchester United duo Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha are already proving to be incredible summer signings.
Mbeumo joined Man United from Brentford, while Cunha transferred from Wolves, with the duo instantly managing expectations at Old Trafford.
In Man United’s 4-2 win over Brighton last weekend, Mbeumo was praised for scoring a brace, while Cunha bagged his first goal for the club.
As part of two number 10s in Ruben Amorim’s system, the duo are forming an incredible partnership, and ahead of Man United’s visit to Nottingham Forest, one Arsenal legend has been discussing their impact.

Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha likened to Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke
United are known for boasting some of the Premier League’s most iconic duos, and one of those was Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole.
In the mid-to-late 1990s, Cole and Yorke blossomed into arguably one of the greatest strike partnerships, combining for a whopping 129 goals.
Paul Merson thinks Cunha and Mbeumo can become a ‘success’ at Old Trafford like the above duo after hailing their legendary partnership.
“Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha look good,” Merson wrote in his Sportskeeda column. “Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole used to be an unbelievable partnership and these two could become a success like that duo at Manchester United.”
“Mbeumo and Cunha will always create problems for opponents, it’s just that they have to do it consistently.
“The teams they played for last season, Brentford and Wolves, they weren’t the most consistent sides. So Mbeumo and Cunha haven’t had that pressure of playing well every single weekend.”
Paul Merson issues Nottingham Forest vs Man United prediction
Man United travel to the City Ground on Saturday (November 1) on the back of three successive wins in the competition.

But despite praising the impact of Cunha and Mbeumo, Merson has a ‘doubt’ that run will continue and predicts a 1-1 draw.
“If Brentford or Wolves lose to Nottingham Forest, no one bats an eyelid. But if it’s Manchester United and they end up losing, the headlines just write on their own. That is what Mbeumo and Cunha have to deal with now,” the Arsenal legend added.
“I would only rate Manchester United’s chances of finishing in the top five after this game. Form and consistency are two different things. If they beat Forest, you would have to think they are contenders for a top-five finish. But I doubt they can get three points in this game.”
Mbeumo, who has been praised by Wayne Rooney, holds the key to United’s chances of extending their winning run, as does Cunha, in what promises to be a thrilling showdown.
