Matheus Cunha makes announcement after Wolves dressing room mutiny claim

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha took to social media to announce he and his partner are expecting a second child amid uncertainty regarding his future at the club.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former goalkeeper turned pundit Paul Robinson believes new manager Vitor Pereira is in danger of losing the dressing room if he doesn’t address the 25-year-old’s future and the rumblings of discontent behind the scenes.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Cunha is yet to put pen to paper on a new Wolves deal despite there being a ‘verbal agreement’ weeks ago as Arsenal circle.

Wolves continue to fight against relegation, currently sitting in 17th with four wins, four draws, 14 defeats, and 16 points from their 22 games.

The Brazilian has been a rare bright spark for Wolves fans this season, starting 19 of his 22 games across all competitions, scoring ten goals, and providing four assists in his 1717 minutes of action.

Cunha took to Instagram to share an image of himself and his partner, Gabriela Cunha, celebrating her pregnancy, saying: “And now we’re four. Endlessly grateful to God for being so blessed.”

Wolves face Arsenal on Saturday (January 25) after two consecutive defeats to Champions League qualification hopefuls Newcastle and Chelsea.

Pereira’s side will then face local rivals Aston Villa at the Molineux next Saturday (February 1) in one of the two club’s most important games of the season.
