Matheus Cunha to Man United: Stefan Borson drops transfer verdict
Manchester United are understood to be among the Premier League sides battling to sign Wolves star Matheus Cunha this summer.
The Brazil international has made no secret of his desire to leave Molineux despite signing a new contract running until June 2029 in February.
The 25-year-old will be available for a summer transfer if any of the interested parties match his £62.5million release clause.
The Athletic reported on 11 April Man United are considering a move for the Wolves forward, who has hit 14 Premier League goals this season.
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider United’s spending power will be clearer once it’s confirmed whether or not they will be competing in Europe next season.
Ruben Amorim’s side drew 2-2 with Lyon in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie, with the second leg taking place at Old Trafford on Thursday (17 April).
United currently sit 14th in the Premier League table, leaving the Europa League as their only remaining route to European qualification for next season.

Man United could face transfer blow after stunning twist
Borson revealed United will likely have a limited transfer budget this summer if they don’t qualify for the Champions League despite their hopes of signing Cunha.
He told Football Insider: “It’s not that much money £62million in the grand scheme of things.
“He’s a very good player, so I think it’s a doable deal.
“They have got so many issues to fill this summer. They will have a limited budget unless they can move on perhaps one of the youngsters to try and generate some profit.
“I think it’s very hard to say whether it’s doable or not. I think you have to assume that United will probably sell one of the younger players and, therefore, that will open up more room for maneuver.
“Then on top of that, it’s almost binary for Manchester United in terms of an active and aggressive summer. Win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League, then they can spend quite a lot of money.
“If they don’t qualify for the Champions League, they can spend a lot less. It’s pretty much as simple as that.
“You can have a more sensible conversation about what United might be able to spend when we know about the outcome of this season for them.”

Man United could sell 10 stars after exit update
Football Insider revealed on 15 April United could let up to 10 first-team stars leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.
United are planning wholesale changes at Old Trafford after a dismal campaign, which is already confirmed to be their worst-ever in the Premier League.
However, club chiefs have a long-term project in mind and will give Amorim time and transfer backing to improve the situation.
