Matheus Nunes posts social media update after Man City fans destroy him
Matheus Nunes responded on social media with an update after facing backlash following his performance after Man City beat Bournemouth.
With little time to celebrate the result, Man City are already preparing for a quick turnaround as they face Leicester City on 2 April.
Pep Guardiola’s side secured their place in the FA Cup semi-finals with goals from Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush, overcoming an early setback after Evanilson put Bournemouth ahead.
However, despite the win, many City fans were left frustrated by aspects of the performance.
In particular, Nunes came under fire from Man City supporters for his role in Bournemouth’s goal—first losing possession in the build-up and then allowing Justin Kluivert to get ahead of him and assist Evanilson.
Despite the backlash, the midfielder shared an update with fans, making it clear he remains focused on the challenges ahead.

Man City fans lose patience with Matheus Nunes after poor form
The Portuguese midfielder shared a training photo on Instagram, accompanied by a smile emoji, giving fans a glimpse of his preparations.

Nunes addressed Man City supporters following the victory over Bournemouth, but his message did little to ease the criticism, with many pointing out his ongoing struggles on the pitch.
He has spent much of the season covering an unfamiliar right-back role, particularly after Kyle Walker’s controversial Man City departure.
However, he has struggled, and Nunes has previously faced criticism from Man City fans for his performances this term, so this recent display only added to the scrutiny.
Man City set sights on Eduardo Camavinga amid midfield concerns

Pep Guardiola has utilised Nunes in multiple positions this season, with his versatility proving useful amid injuries to key players like Rodri and the absence of Walker.
But it seems as if midfield is a target for the side, as Man City have been linked to Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga.
Football Insider revealed on 16 March that Man City would need to pay around £70 million to sign Camavinga, who has featured in both midfield and defence for Madrid.
Like Nunes, the Frenchman has been deployed at full-back, but City appear keen to strengthen their midfield as Nunes continues to struggle for form.
For now, Guardiola will rely on the Portugal international to cover where needed as the side prepare for their upcoming fixtures against Leicester and a Manchester derby on 6 April.
