Mathys Tel posts six-word Harry Kane message after confirmed news
Tottenham Hotspur loanee Mathys Tel could collect silverware for two different teams this month after Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga title.
Tel is yet to set the world alight since his loan move to North London was confirmed on Deadline Day in February, with three goals in 16 appearances as part of a Spurs side which has floundered this term.
Tottenham still have the Europa League to play for despite being destined for a lower-mid-table Premier League finish, and have one foot in the decider after a 3-1 semi-final first-leg victory over Bodo/Glimt.
Ange Postecoglou’s future remains shrouded in mystery regardless of Tottenham’s progress in Europe, while it’s also unclear whether Tel’s loan spell at Spurs will be made permanent at the end of the season.

Harry Kane wins first title after Tottenham exit
Tel’s arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in February was preceded by Kane’s £100million move to Bayern 18 months prior, and the Lilywhites legend has made the Allianz Arena his home in sublime style.
Derided for a lack of success at Tottenham and his first season in Munich despite being a regular source of goals for both clubs, Kane has finally broken his drought after Bayern secured the Bundesliga title.
Club | Appearances | Starts | Goals | Assists | Yellow Cards | Games Missed/Benched |
Bayern Munich | 14 | 4 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 17 |
Tottenham | 16 | 11 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 2 |
Kane’s 24 Bundesliga goals and 36 in all competitions make it 80 in just 89 appearances for the England captain in Bavaria, and that kind of form has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
Although he only made eight league appearances and failed to score before his mid-season switch to Tottenham, Tel is also set to collect a Bundesliga medal, and posted on Instagram to congratulate Kane.
Tel shared Bayern’s own post of a tuxedo-clad Kane next to the Bundesliga trophy to his Instagram story (4 May), and said: “So happy for you bro – deserved!”

Tottenham to reunite Harry Kane and Mathys Tel?
Kane’s possible Premier League return has left Tottenham fans to fantasise over the prospect of their favourite son being back in North London, but Spurs will first have to deal with Tel’s potential transfer.
Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider last month that Tel ‘was never the right fit for Tottenham’ and will return to Bayern at season’s end, and has failed to justify his £45m option to buy.
However, Tel’s hefty fee could hold the key to Bayern’s retention or sale of Kane this summer, and if Spurs are keen to ensure that arguably their greatest-ever player doesn’t join a Premier League rival, they’ll soon have to decide whether to stick or twist.
