Matt Bloomfield in advanced talks to be new Luton Town manager – sources
Luton Town are in advanced talks to name Wycombe Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield as their new manager, sources have told Football Insider.
Bloomfield, 40, did not take training at Wycombe on Monday (13 January) as talks with Luton continue.
The Chairboys are pushing for promotion to the Championship this term while the Hertfordshire side are battling to avoid relegation to the third tier.
Rob Edwards departed Kenilworth Road last week (9 January) by mutual consent.
Bloomfield only took his first manager job in 2022, joining Colchester in September 2022 and taking charge of 27 games before leaving for Wycombe.
He took over at Adams Park in February 2023 and has managed 108 games with the Buckinghamshire side.
The 40-year-old led Wycombe to a 10th-place finish in his first full season in charge in the 2023-24 campaign.
Wycombe could lose manager Bloomfield to Luton
They are now second in League One and pushing to return to the Championship for the first time since the 2020-21 campaign.
Meanwhile, Luton are 20th in the second tier despite only being relegated from the Premier League last term.

Edwards departed as manager last week after more than two years at the helm.
Luton are next in action against Preston North End on Saturday (18 January), while Wycombe face Mansfield Town on the same day.
