Former Rangers midfielder Matt Crooks has posted a message on Twitter raving about former Gers and Accrington Stanley team-mate Josh Windass after Windass’ hat-trick for the Gers in their 5-3 win over Hamilton.
Crooks joined Rangers alongside Windass in 2016 but struggled to make any impact under Mark Warburton before being shipped out by Pedro Caixinha.”Play him number 10 and he will score plenty..flying” Crooks said on his personal Twitter account.

The giant midfielder heaped praise on Windass after taking his goal tally to 14 in 18 games since Graeme Murty succeeded Caixinha in October.
Windass signed a new deal at Ibrox on Friday to tie him to the Gers until 2021 after a blistering season so far which has saw him hit 15 goals in 31 games.
The 24-year-old was attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs during the January transfer window with bids received – and quickly thrown out – by the Light Blues.
Crooks and Windass joined the Gers for a combined fee of £120,000 in 2016 with both failing to make any real impact in their debut season and Crooks ultimately spending the second-half on loan with Scunthorpe before signing for Northampton Town permanently in the summer.
Windass spent much of last season playing in an unfamiliar central midfield role before being used further forward by Caixinha and Murty.
