Matty Cash sends message to Aston Villa teammates after injury setback

Aston Villa defender Matty Cash took to social media to send a message to his teammate after their 2-1 FA Cup win over Tottenham on Sunday (February 9).

The 27-year-old was forced to watch on from the sidelines after picking up a muscle injury in Aston Villa’s 4-2 Champions League win over Celtic earlier in the season.

Jacob Ramsey opened the scoring for the home side after just two minutes, a player many Villa fans thought would suffer due to the loan arrival of Marcus Rashford from Man United.

In-form forward Morgan Rogers doubled Villa’s lead just after the hour-mark, all but securing their spot in the next round of the FA Cup.

Wonderkid Mathys Tel scored his first Tottenham goal in added time, but it was too little too late, although he did thank the fans for their support after the game.
