Max Aarons sends ‘love it’ message to Alex Scott after Bournemouth win
Antoine Semenyo was hailed by Alex Scott and Max Aarons on social media after Bournemouth’s win over Fulham on Monday (14 April).
Andoni Iraola’s Cherries won their first Premier League game in seven attempts thanks to Semenyo’s first-minute goal at the Vitality Stadium, with Scott playing a huge part in Bournemouth’s quick-fire start.
Bournemouth and Fulham are two of the several sides still firmly in the running for a European place next term, and Semenyo’s strike takes Iraola’s side back above Fulham and Brighton into eighth position.
With the Premier League having five Champions League places up for grabs and potentially 11 places in various continental competitions, the Cherries are back in the driving seat to achieve history this season.

Semenyo praised as Scott and Aarons react to Bournemouth strike
Semenyo’s strike on 57 seconds sees the Ghanaian match last season’s goal tally of eight with six matches left to play, having scored for the first time since Bournemouth’s 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest in January.
The 25-year-old’s form across the last two campaigns has led to transfer speculation, with former Man United scout Mick Brown telling Football Insider that Chelsea are very interested in Semenyo’s services.
Bournemouth | Statistic | Fulham |
1 | Goals | 0 |
1.46 | xG | 1.07 |
3 / 12 | Shots on Target | 7 / 12 |
41% | Possession | 59% |
6 | Corners | 9 |
However, Bournemouth’s players will be hoping that Semenyo stays put at the Vitality Stadium, with Scott posting a photo of the pair on his Instagram account and saying: “The boy’s back.”
Aarons, who left Bournemouth on loan for Valencia back in January, also hailed the Ghana international from afar, commenting on Scott’s post with the message: “Love it you.”
Bournemouth braced for Antoine Semenyo transfer talks
Semenyo finally being back in the goals is good news for Bournemouth’s European push, but not good news for the Cherries in their bid to keep hold of him and several others in Iraola’s impressive squad.
Mick Brown has also told Football Insider that despite Semenyo being heavily linked with a move to Anfield, Liverpool don’t see his signature as a priority but could still re-enter the race for his services.
Arsenal fans, meanwhile, are desperate for Mikel Arteta to add Semenyo to his frontline, and with his stock on the up, it remains to be seen where the Bournemouth winger will be plying his trade next term.
