Max Dowman reacts as Arsenal share footage of new signing on official channel

Arsenal have shared footage of the squad welcoming in their newest signing, and young starlet Max Dowman has reacted.

The Gunners have had a busy summer as they look to break their streak of three consecutive second-place finishes in the Premier League by going one better next season.

In the 2024/25 campaign, Mikel Arteta’s side finished ten points adrift of runaway title winners Liverpool.

With squad depth being a big issue for the North London side of the past few years, Arsenal have brought in the likes of Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, and Christian Norgaard in an attempt to fix the problem.

Arsenal welcome Gyokeres as ‘part of the family’

One thing that Gunners fans have been crying out for over the last couple of years is a new striker to help fire their side to a Premier League title.

Last season, Arteta was forced to utilise Mikel Merino up front for a period of time, after both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus went down with injuries.

However, Arsenal announced the signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon on Saturday (26 July), and many believe the North London club have now secured the talismanic figure they have been after for so long.

On their official Instagram page, the Gunners posted a video of Gyokeres being welcomed by his teammates, with the caption: “Part of the family now.”

Arsenal’s young star Dowman liked the post to show his appreciation at the arrival of the new striker.

‘Arsenal still have money to spend’

Meanwhile, Arsenal have reportedly decided they are “really pushing the envelope” with their summer transfer business and will spend accordingly.

That is the view of football finance expert Dan Plumley, who claims that the club’s boosted revenue from the Premier League and Champions League would allow the Gunners to spend £200million on transfers this summer.

Despite splashing out significant amounts on signings so far this summer, Arteta’s side may still have some cash in the budget to work with.

The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace and Real Madrid winger Rodrygo as they aim to further reinforce their attacking ranks.
