Max Dowman reacts to Arsenal’s wholesome Viktor Gyokeres message
Arsenal’s players have been busy welcoming their new teammate Viktor Gyokeres to the club.
The Gunners have finished second in each of the last three Premier League seasons, and every time, they’ve been outscored by the champions.
But Mikel Arteta will hope that this can now be put right after finally landing Gyokeres to fill their longstanding centre-forward vacancy.
Gyokeres was officially unveiled as an Arsenal player ahead of their 3-2 friendly win over Newcastle in Singapore on Saturday.
Viktor Gyokeres receives wholesome welcome message
Arsenal posted a video (29 July) of Gyokeres being introduced to his new teammates ahead of the win over Newcastle.
“Welcome to the family man,” Arsenal captioned the post in reference to Mikel Merino’s wholesome introduction to the striker.
The club added: “Viktor Gyokeres meeting his Arsenal teammates for the first time.”
The post is fast-approaching 100,000 likes, and among them is Arsenal wonderkid Max Dowman, who has been catching the eye himself with some excellent pre-season performances at just 15 years old.

Max Dowman hailed for ‘remarkable’ breakthrough
While the capture of Gyokeres will have Arsenal fans dreaming of ending their long title drought, the form of Dowman has undoubtedly got them talking.
The 15-year-old is the latest off the prolific Hale End production line and has looked right at home coming up against the likes of AC Milan and Newcastle this summer — scoring a penalty in a shootout against the former and winning a spot-kick against the latter, among other standout moments.
Former Premier League referee Keith Hackett has backed Arsenal’s senior players to protect their teenage sensation, and labelled his breakthrough from the academy ‘remarkable’.

Hackett spoke exclusively to Football Insider about Arsenal taking the youngster under their wings, saying: “That happens automatically.
“It’s remarkable that, in one of our top teams, we’ve got a 15-year-old breaking through and being involved.“
Up next for Arsenal is another friendly clash against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, with fans waiting patiently to see if they’ll get to watch Gyokeres and Dowman on the pitch together.
