Max Wober ‘most likely’ to return to Leeds after fan backlash – expert
Max Wober is likely to be reintegrated into the team at Leeds United despite potential backlash from fans after his loan spell in Germany.
The defender spent last season at Borussia Monchengladbach, having left Leeds in the aftermath of their relegation from the Premier League.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson explained that he will now have to make things up to the supporters at Elland Road by putting in effort on the pitch and playing for the badge.
Fans were left bitter after an exodus of players following the relegation, with the now-returning loanees facing heavy scrutiny about whether they will remain this season.
However, Robinson explained that Daniel Farke will be keen for Wober to come back into his squad in an attempt to improve the defensive unit.
Max Wober ‘most likely’ to return Leeds United ahead of next season
Former Scotland full-back Alan Hutton previously told Football Insider that Wober’s performances at the Euros could decide whether he gets a move away from Leeds.
After scoring an own goal against France in a string of mediocre performances before Austria were knocked out by Turkey, his displays have not attracted any new admirers.
Now, Robinson has insisted he is the most likely of all the returning loanees to be integrated back into Farke’s side.
“Aaronson is the one who’s going to come back into the fold,” he told Football Insider.
“The other three coming back will have a lot of work to do with the Leeds fans.
“Leeds United fans will support anybody who wears the shirt as long as they give 100 per cent. The minimum requirement is maximum effort.
“Out of the three, Wober is the one fans didn’t expect to jump ship last summer.
“Whether that was his choice or not, he will have a lot of work to do to get them back on side.

“He’s also the one that’s most likely to be integrated back into the squad next season, out of the returning players, because of where he plays.”
