Max Wober offer will get green light from Leeds United – sources
Leeds United are ready to accept offers for defender Max Wober in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The 26-year-old was one of several Whites stars to go out on loan last summer (2023) following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
He is currently plying his trade with Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga, but his loan deal will expire in June.
There was no mention of an option to buy when the two sides announced the move – but it is believed Leeds will be open to selling Wober permanently when the window opens.
That is despite the Austria international only joining the Yorkshire club for a reported £11million in January 2023.
Leeds United ready to accept Wober offer this summer
Leeds have taken significant steps towards promotion back to the Premier League in recent weeks but even if they do return to the top flight, sources say Wober is unlikely to be part of Daniel Farke’s squad.
The Whites boss is keen to add more quality of his own to the side and is also keen to remain loyal to his current crop of players if promotion is achieved.
Wober, who is under contract at Elland Road until June 2027, has turned out 22 times across all competitions for Gladbach this term – notching one goal and three assists.
The 26-year-old made just 19 appearances for Leeds before leaving the club temporarily last summer (2023).
He has played both at centre-back and left-back for the German side – just as he did at Leeds and former club RB Salzburg.

Wober and Gladbach sit 12th in the Bundesliga and were knocked out of the DfB-Pokal by third division Saarbrücken on Tuesday (12 March).
Farke’s side are second in the Championship and could go top after their clash with Millwall on Sunday (17 March).
In other news, 24-year-old has played last Leeds United match as decision made.
