McAvennie refuses to credit Rangers chiefs after 'brilliant' transfer development
Frank McAvennie was not surprised to see Rangers hold onto their key players this summer.
The Celtic icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the club’s transfer dealings.
Rangers kept hold of all their key players this summer despite numerous reports regarding the futures of several key men.
It was suggested the Gers may have to sell a senior player to offset the financial loss of not qualifying for the Champions League group stage.
However, no such sale was sanctioned and Steven Gerrard can pick from the same pool of players as last season, with a few additions.
John Lundstram, Fashion Sakala and Juninho Bacuna all joined the ranks at Ibrox.

McAvennie insists he is not shocked by this development and dismissed any talk of high-profile exits as “rumours”.
When asked if he was surprised Rangers didn’t sell any players, McAvennie told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild, “I’m not surprised.
“There were no bids. Certainly, we didn’t hear about any. As always, there are rumours.
“But that was never backed up. Unless there were bids we don’t know about but I would be very surprised considering what the media is like in this country.
“It certainly doesn’t look like they need to sell anyone. Otherwise they would have sold someone, it’s brilliant they have kept them all.
“I would say the club did a good job but they didn’t have a job to do if there were no bids.
“Morelos is always linked, he’s still there. If the right bid had come in then he would have gone.
“So I’m not shocked. A lot of people thought players would leave and they haven’t.“
