McAvennie 'wishes all the best' to Celtic starlet Dembele as Euro club reportedly swoop
Frank McAvennie claims Celtic could sell Karamoko Dembele if a decent bid comes in this summer.
The Hoops icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted he thought Dembele would be a first team regular at this point in his career.
The Scottish Sun claim Danish side FC Nordsjaelland want Dembele to replace the departing Kamaldeen Sulemana.
Dembele, 18, has one year remaining on his current Celtic deal.
The midfielder made his first-team debut under Neil Lennon during the 2018/19 campaign but outings were hard to come by last season.
He made five SPFL appearances last season with three of them coming as cameos in the post-split campaign.

When asked if Celtic will sell Dembele if an acceptable bid comes in, McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild, “I think so.
“He’s not getting a game at Celtic. He’s not doing it. For me, he should be pushing for the first team now.
“He’s been there long enough. We’ve seen it before at Celtic, someone comes in who is supposedly the best thing since sliced bread.
“It’s rare those players actually end up in the team. I hope that doesn’t happen with Dembele, the kid has loads of talent.
“When he first broke onto the scene, he was going by players like they weren’t there.
“Now I watch and he passes it. I’m thinking ‘what’s happened here?’.
“Has it been coached out of him? When you see a player with his talent going backwards you think ‘woah’.
“If he does go, I wish him all the best. But he has all the talent so why is he not in the team?”
Dembele burst onto the scene when he played a reserve game for Celtic aged just 13.
He has also played for various England youth sides including the Under 18s.
