I think he has got something special: McGregor delivers verdict on potential Celtic signing

Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor believes that Patrick Roberts’ return to the club will be a huge boost for the Bhoys and help them in their Champions League campaign.
Roberts, 20, joined Celtic on a loan spell back in February 2016 and went on to make a total of 60 appearances across all competitions where he scored 17 goals and 21 assists.
The Manchester City winger was crucial in driving the Hoops towards their domestic treble win last season, and it looks as though his former Celtic team mates are eager to have him back at Parkhead.
“I do think Patrick has got something special and it says a lot that it was at Celtic that he wanted to come back to,” McGregor told the Glasgow Evening Times.
“Obviously as players we don’t know what is going on behind the scenes but I have spoken to him a few times over the summer and I know his feelings for Celtic.

“He really would be a massive addition again to the squad, especially as we look towards the Champions League.
“He knows us and knows what the club is about and on the big European nights he is a player who can come in and make a difference. He has that bit of quality about him and that is always a boost for us.”
While McGregor talks about Roberts being a great addition to the squad, he has also had a fantastic start to the season himself.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been at the club since joining the academy as a young boy and has nailed his spot within the senior squad.
McGregor has already scored 3 goals in just 4 Premiership games as well as providing a single assist.
Celtic look to be replicating last season’s success as they are yet to be defeated in the opening games of the season, and have also made it into the group stages of the Champions League.
