McLeish issues 'huge' Kent prediction after what he's just seen at Rangers

Ryan Kent has returned from injury at exactly the right time for Rangers after two stunning performances.

That’s according to former Gers boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after being blown away by the attacker.

Kent, 25, recently returned from injury and resumed his Rangers career with a bang.

He picked up an assist off the bench in 4 November’s draw with Brondby before marking his Ibrox return with a goal against Ross County last weekend.

McLeish insists Kent’s return couldn’t have come at a better time for Rangers as he has given a lift to the club.

“We change our minds every day in football, we are fickle as anything,” McLeish told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“When Ryan was playing last season, he was getting criticism for his form.

“Obviously we know he was probably playing too much and had a bit of injury.

“But he has come back with a resurgence. He certainly knows what he’s doing on the pitch.

“He is only going to get better as well. I still think he has a huge future in football.

“We saw how brilliant he was against Brondby with the assist then the goal at the weekend.

“His return gives the whole place a lift, I’m sure.”

Kent has scored 28 and chipped in with 33 assists in 139 games for Rangers since moving north of the border.

He has made 11 appearances this season and registered five assists to go along with his goal.
