McLeish issues Malik Tillman Rangers dressing room claim
Max Tillman’s “infectious” attitude is improving everyone in the Rangers dressing room.
That’s according to former Gers boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 20-year-old’s form.
Tillman scored Rangers’ third in Tuesday’s (9 August) Champions League qualifying win over Union Saint-Gilloise, helping to overturn last week’s 2-0 loss.
The winger moved to Ibrox on loan from Bayern Munich this summer and the deal includes the option for Rangers to make the move permanent in the summer of 2023.
He already has two senior appearances for the United States to his name despite representing Germany at various youth levels.
McLeish has been impressed with what he has seen from Tillman during his four Gers appearances and claims his experience of playing for the USMNT can only benefit Rangers.
“Everybody is waiting and thinking ‘who is Tillman?’, then you get the answer,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Ben Wild.
“He looks a very, great player. Coming over from the States, they are very positive over there. They always see the glass as half full rather than half empty.
“He has come over with that type of attitude and that is infectious for the dressing room as well.”

Tillman made seven senior appearances for Bayern Munich during the 2021-22 with four of them coming in the Bundesliga.
He scored his first senior goal for the club during that season, bagging against Bremer SV in the DFB Pokal.
